Vasanth Kotamarti, M.D. is a fellowship-trained hand-upper extremity surgeon. He treats patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, with injuries and conditions ranging from fractures of the hand and wrist, muscle/tendon injuries, nerve injuries, nerve compression, congenital hand and upper limb differences, reconstructive surgery including free tissue transfer, wrist arthroscopy, and spasticity/spinal cord injury affecting the upper extremity. His plastic surgery training brings unique perspective to his approach to the fine structures in the hand and upper limb.He attended The College of New Jersey and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as part of their combined BS-MD program. He completed the Plastic Surgery residency at Albany Medical Center, one of the busiest trauma centers in New York State, followed by a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he trained with experts in Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery.
